Delungra Community Drought Afternoon
9th of Sep, 2019 10:08 am

More than 170 people gathered together in Delungra on Saturday for a community drought afternoon, hosted by Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP), Delungra Bowling Club and Delungra Development Council.

Face painter Beverly Jones was busy creating masterpieces for local children in between treasure hunts and a number of fun games.

Delungra's Lynda Atkinson said 19.3 metres was the record throw during a gumboot toss competition.

"Everyone had a great day relaxing and grazing. The grazing table was done by Lets Graze Inverell and our meat was a huge hit and supplied by Lets Meat Inverell," she said.

More than 50 attendees received lucky door prizes, with many amazing local businesses donating items.

"Bales of Lucerne were donated by RAMHP and six lucky door winners took five bales. There were some big smiles on their faces," Lynda said.

Young kids had a great time with games and crafts while adults got to sit back, relax and listen to Matt Milne from RAMHP take about how to support one another through tough times.

Music from Don and Gail Mureau set a great atmosphere.

"We had amazing support from many businesses in Inverell and would like to thank them for thinking of our little town."
