Students learn new skills at Sapphire Small Schools Gala Day
13th of Sep, 2019 11:58 am

Gilgai, Tingha, Gum Flat, Delungra and Bonshaw students gathered together to compete in different sports and build new friendships on Friday.

The small schools within the Inverell district participated in a range of activities including hockey, cricket, rugby league and AFL.

The aim of the day was for students to build friendships and learn new skills.

Regional development officers for hockey (Blair Chalmers), CRL (Luke Taylor), Cricket (Nathan Lyons) and AFL (Alan Martyn and Matt Harrison) attended the day and shared their expertise with the students.

In groups, students were taught new skills and played minor games as they rotated around each of the sports.

Students and staff would like to thank these officers and the Macintyre High helpers for making a day a success.

A big thank you to the Gilgai P and C for manning the canteen for the day. All students had a great and enjoyable day.
