Sixth Weeds and Waterholes Bash scheduled for February
15th of Jan, 2020 12:59 pm

Delungra Hotel will be the place to be from February 21 to 23 as the popular fundraising Weeds and Waterholes Bash takes place.

Held annually, the bash raises thousands of dollars for the Kids with Cancer Foundation; a cause close to many locals' hearts.

There will be a bike show 'n' shine, live entertainment, chain chuck and piston toss, free camping and free Sunday breakfast this year.

Organiser Reg Dennis said the event, first held six years ago, started as a motorcycle charity run before opening it up to all.

The family friendly bash draws people from all over New South Wales and even further out of state who support the event year after year.

"Over the past six years, we have raised nearly $40,000 for the Kids with Cancer Charity. We do this through running raffles and auctions at the event.

The organising committee are asking locals to donation goods that may be used to raise money on the day to ensure the 2020 stacks up to previous years.

"Nothing is too small and everything is appreciated," Reg said.

Bikes, cars and campers are all welcome to attend!

To boost fundraising efforts, The Weeds and Waterholes Bash Committee will hold barbecues prior to the weekend in Inverell and Moree.

The Inverell barbecue will be held on January 18 at Coles and Moree's barbecue will be held on February 8; also at Coles.

For more information, phone (02) 6724 8405 or head out to the Delungra Hotel during the weekend of February 21 to 23.
